Is Google Interview Warmup still available?
No. Its address now redirects to a general interview-tips article on grow.google, and Google has published no closure notice; third-party reports say it was retired in 2026.
When we fetched grow.google/interview-warmup and the certificates address on 21 October 2026, both redirected to a page titled “How to Prepare for an Interview”. We looked for a statement from Google and did not find one; the reports of a retirement in April 2026 come from other interview-tool companies’ blogs, so treat the date as unconfirmed. What is certain is that the tool is not at its address. If you relied on it, the rest of this page is about what to use instead.
What did Interview Warmup do?
It asked a short set of interview questions, recorded your spoken answer, transcribed it, and pointed out patterns in your words; it was free and ran in the browser.
Its value was the loop, not the analysis: a question you had not seen, your answer out loud, and the transcript to read back. That loop is what to look for in a replacement. The parts it did not do are the parts the alternatives below differ on: scoring the content of the answer, reading delivery from the camera, follow-up questions, and a rewritten answer to try again.
What should a replacement have?
Unseen questions, your answer out loud, a transcript, and then what Warmup did not give you: a score on what you said and a read on your delivery.
- Questions you have not seen, for your role, not a generic list.
- Out loud, on camera, because the gap between the answer in your head and the one that leaves your mouth is the thing to practise.
- A transcript, so you can see where you looped and whether you answered the question.
- One thing to fix, named, so the next take is different from the last.
- A free tier you can judge it on before paying anything.
Which alternatives are worth trying?
Huru if it must be free, Yoodli for a live roleplay, Big Interview if your uni provides it, and Veracue for one recorded answer scored on content and delivery.
Huru
Closest to Warmup in spirit: free for job seekers, a very large question bank, questions built from a job posting through a Chrome extension, and content scoring on each answer with progress across takes. It does not say it reads your face or voice. The right first stop if Warmup’s price was the reason you used it.
Yoodli
Different from Warmup: a live roleplay that asks follow-up questions based on your answers, with feedback on your answers and delivery. Pro was US$8 a month billed annually with up to ten roleplays a week; Advanced US$20 a month billed annually. If you want a conversation rather than a recording, this is the one.
Big Interview
A curriculum of video lessons and an interview simulator, used by 700+ institutions through career centres. If your uni provides it, you already have it; if not, it is priced for individuals too. Follow-ups and the scoring rubric were not stated on its site.
Veracue
Ours. You answer real interview questions on camera and get feedback on what you said, your eye contact, pace, filler words, face and voice, with one #1 thing to fix and a stronger script written from your own answer. Where it goes further than Warmup: the content is scored against a rubric, the delivery is read from the camera and microphone, and the second go comes with an improved script. Where it is like Warmup: the loop is unseen question, answer out loud, transcript. Two answers are free with full Pro feedback; no card.
