Veracue Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Veracue's interview practice platform, websites, and related services (together, the "Services"), operated by Veracue Pty Ltd (ACN 701 056 573, ABN 43 701 056 573) ("Veracue", "we", "us", "our"), an Australian company based in Queensland, Australia.
By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information and forms part of your agreement with us, and our Refund Policy.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Services. By creating an account or using the Services, you confirm that you are 18 or over and that the information you provide is accurate. The Services are not directed at, and must not be used by, anyone under 18.
The Services are not currently offered to people located in the European Union or the European Economic Area, or in Illinois, Texas or Washington in the United States, and you must not use them from there. If you already hold an account and are connecting from one of those places, you can still sign in to download or delete your data and to cancel a subscription.
If you use the Services on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
2. Your account
You are responsible for your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. Your account is personal to you: one account per person, and you must not share your account with others. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorisation.
3. The Services and plans
Veracue provides AI-assisted interview practice, including AI-generated practice questions, recording of your practice answers for analysis, and feedback on the content and delivery of your responses. The Services are provided to help you prepare for interviews; they do not guarantee any particular interview outcome, job offer, or result.
Practice questions. Your plan gives you a number of practice questions. A practice question is used each time you record an answer to a question and we analyse it; it isn't used if the analysis fails on our side. A practice session is one sitting of one or more questions.
We currently offer the following plans:
- Free — the number of free practice questions specified at the time you sign up (currently two). The number allocated to your account is shown in the app and does not decrease after you register, even if we change the allocation for new accounts. Free practice questions are a lifetime allocation per account — they do not renew and do not roll over.
- Pro — $29 USD per month, or $42 AUD per month in Australia (automatically recurring), including 25 practice questions per billing period.
- Premium — $49 USD per month, or $70 AUD per month in Australia (automatically recurring), including 80 practice questions per billing period.
- Interview Sprint — $39 USD, or $56 AUD in Australia, as a one-time payment, including 50 practice questions, valid for 60 days from purchase. Unused practice questions and access expire at the end of the 60 days.
Practice questions do not roll over. Unused practice questions on a recurring plan expire at the end of each billing period, and your allowance resets when the new period begins.
Prices are shown and charged in your local currency where we offer one (currently AUD and USD); otherwise in USD. Prices include any applicable taxes. We may change our plans, features, and pricing from time to time. If we change the price of a subscription you hold, we will give you reasonable notice and any change will take effect at your next renewal — so you always have the opportunity to cancel before a changed price applies.
Student pricing. Where we offer student pricing, it is for current students only. We verify eligibility by the university email address on your account, and we may withdraw student pricing if it is misused.
The Playground. The Playground is available on Premium. It lets you practise a pitch, speech or presentation against criteria you confirm. A Playground session uses one practice question, and the same rules apply to it as to any other answer, including how recording, analysis and refunds work. Feedback from the Playground is about how that practice went; it does not guarantee any particular outcome or result. Refining a saved goal’s criteria does not use a practice question.
4. Payment, billing, and cancellation
Payment. Paid plans are billed through our payment processor, Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us (via Stripe) to charge your payment method for the applicable fees. We do not store your full card details.
Automatic renewal (Pro and Premium). Pro and Premium are automatically renewing subscriptions: your payment method is charged at the start of each billing period, and the subscription continues, renewing each period at the then-current price, until you cancel. Renewal is not affected by how much you use the Services — your plan renews whether or not you have used your practice questions. This is disclosed at the point of purchase, and a receipt is emailed to you for every charge.
Cancelling. You may cancel at any time through your account settings (Settings → Subscription → Cancel subscription). Cancelling stops all future charges. You keep full access to your paid plan until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, after which your account reverts to the Free plan. We do not provide pro-rata refunds for the unused portion of a billing period except where required by law (see our Refund Policy).
One-time purchases (Interview Sprint). The Interview Sprint plan is a single payment granting access for a fixed 60-day period from the date of purchase. It does not renew and involves no ongoing charges. Unused practice questions and access expire at the end of that period.
Failed payments. If a recurring payment fails, we may suspend or downgrade your paid access until payment is successfully made.
Refunds. We do not provide refunds for change of mind — see our Refund Policy for the full position. Nothing in these Terms or that policy excludes your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. The Sprint guarantee (section 5) is the only refund we offer beyond your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
5. The Sprint guarantee
If you buy an Interview Sprint and meet all of the conditions below, and you have not received a job offer within 90 days of completing your 50th answer, we will refund what you paid for that Sprint.
The conditions are:
- You completed all 50 Sprint answers before the Sprint expired.
- At least 40 of the 50 answers were at least 45 seconds long.
- Your answers were recorded on at least 14 different days.
We check these against your account's records. Answers you have deleted do not count towards these conditions. The time limits are measured in Brisbane time: the 90 days from the moment you complete your 50th answer, and the Sprint's expiry from the moment of purchase.
To claim, email support@veracue.com within 14 days after the 90-day period ends, from the email address on your account, and include the statement "I confirm I have not received a job offer since completing my 50th Sprint answer." We rely on that statement and do not ask for further proof.
We refund the amount you actually paid (after any discount code) to your original payment method within 14 days of a valid claim. Each person may claim the Sprint guarantee once. It cannot be combined with any other refund or credit.
We may change or withdraw the Sprint guarantee for future purchases at any time. The guarantee that applies to you is the one in the Terms at the time you bought.
Nothing in this section limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
6. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Services only for their intended purpose — your own interview preparation. You must not:
- Use the Services in any way that breaches any applicable law or regulation.
- Share, resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Services or your account access.
- Attempt to access another user's account or data.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, harvest, or extract data from the Services, or attempt to derive our models, training data, source code, or underlying technology. This includes using the Services or their outputs to build, train, improve, or benchmark a competing product, model, or service.
- Upload or submit content that is unlawful, infringing, malicious, or that you do not have the right to submit.
- Introduce malware, attempt to disrupt or overload the Services, or circumvent any security, rate-limiting, or usage-limit measures (including the practice-question limits attached to your plan).
- Use automated means to access the Services other than as expressly permitted.
- Misrepresent your identity or impersonate others.
We may suspend or terminate access (see Section 12) if you breach this section.
7. Your content and the recordings you create
Your content. You retain ownership of the content you submit — including job descriptions, your resume, and your practice answers ("Your Content"). You grant us a licence to use Your Content as needed to operate and provide the Services to you (for example, to transcribe and analyse your answer and generate feedback), as described in our Privacy Policy.
Recordings. As described in our Privacy Policy, we do not store your practice recordings — they are analysed and then discarded — unless you turn on Keep my recordings, in which case section 2.8 of the Privacy Policy describes what we keep, for how long, and what we use it for. You can turn it off at any time, which deletes what was kept.
Calibration and biometric data. If you choose to calibrate, the handling of your facial calibration data is governed in detail by our Privacy Policy, including the consent you provide at the point of calibration. Nothing in these Terms overrides the specific consents and protections described there.
8. Our intellectual property, calibration, and aggregate data
Our IP. The Services — including our software, models, question banks, scoring systems, designs, text, and branding — are owned by Veracue or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Services for your personal interview preparation in accordance with these Terms. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.
Feedback. If you send us suggestions or feedback about the Services, you grant us the right to use them without restriction or obligation to you.
Calibration data. If you complete calibration, the numerical readings derived from your photos are stored against your account and used solely to personalise your analysis, as described in the Privacy Policy. If you separately opt in to model improvement, your calibration photos and numerical readings are also retained as part of a dataset used to train and improve our models. You may withdraw at any time by deleting your calibration data in Settings, which removes your photos and readings from all future training; models already trained on data before withdrawal cannot be untrained. If you turn on Keep my recordings, what we keep from your recordings is also used to improve our models, as described in section 3 of the Privacy Policy.
Aggregate data. We may create and use statistics and aggregated insights derived from use of the Service that do not identify any individual. Such aggregate data is and remains the sole property of Veracue.
9. AI-generated content and no professional advice
The questions, analysis, scores, and feedback the Services produce are generated by automated systems and are provided for practice and self-improvement purposes only. They are general in nature, may contain errors or inaccuracies, and are not professional, career, legal, psychological, or recruitment advice.
The Services analyse delivery and content as a practice aid; they reflect impressions a viewer might form, not measurements of your actual abilities, employability, or suitability for any role, and should not be relied upon as doing so. You are responsible for how you use the feedback. We do not guarantee any interview outcome.
At the beginner level the Services write a practice answer for you to read aloud. It is a worked example built from what you give us, not a statement of fact about you or any employer. Anything you say in a real interview is yours to stand behind: check it is true of you before you use it.
10. Service availability
We aim to keep the Services available and working well, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Services may be unavailable from time to time for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features of the Services, and will give reasonable notice of material changes where practicable.
11. Consumer guarantees and limitation of liability
Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer under the Australian Consumer Law, our Services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded.
Where liability can be limited. To the extent the law permits us to limit our liability, and except for liability that cannot be excluded:
- Our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with the Services or these Terms is limited, at our option, to (a) resupplying the Services or paying the cost of having the Services resupplied, or (b) paying you an amount equal to the total fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, opportunity, data, or goodwill, to the extent the law allows us to exclude such liability.
- We are not liable for any interview, employment, or other outcome, given the Services are a practice aid only (Section 9).
These limitations apply to the fullest extent permitted by law and do not affect your non-excludable rights.
12. Suspension and termination
By you. You may stop using the Services and delete your account at any time through your account settings.
By us. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms (particularly Sections 1, 2, and 6), if required by law, or if necessary to protect the Services or other users. Where reasonable and lawful, we will give you notice.
Effect of termination. On termination, your right to use the Services ends. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including Sections 8 (IP and aggregate data), 9, 11, 13, 14, and 15 — survive. Deletion of your personal information on account closure is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or in the app and update the "Last updated" date. Changes take effect when posted (or on the date stated in the notice). Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, you should stop using the Services.
14. Assignment and business transfer
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our consent.
We may assign or transfer these Terms, and our rights and obligations under them, to a successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganisation, sale of assets, incorporation of our business, or other business transfer. In such a case, your agreement (including these Terms and the Privacy Policy) and the data associated with your account will transfer to the successor entity, which will be bound by terms at least as protective as those you agreed to. Aggregate data will transfer as Veracue's property as described in Section 8.
15. General
Governing law and jurisdiction. These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
Subject to the next paragraph, all disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Services must be brought exclusively in the courts of Queensland, Australia (and the courts entitled to hear appeals from them), and you and we submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of those courts for that purpose.
If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings in the courts or tribunals of the place where you ordinarily live, and nothing in these Terms excludes or overrides mandatory consumer, privacy, or other laws that apply to you based on your location.
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, form the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Services.
Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest of the Terms remain in effect.
No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
